Thank you, Lord, for bodies.

Posted on April 12, 2016December 3, 2018 by Gabriel Lunesce

Thank you, Lord, for bodies.

Thank you for thick thighs that ripple when walking,
For eyes that go from cutting, to comforting, to “come here.”
Thank you, Lord, for the arms we wrap round one another,
For lips and tongues that say “I love you”
and sometimes even use words.
Thank you for skin to feel soft kisses and deep scratches,
For ears to hear gasps and cries,
For hearts that skip beats when another’s beauty is too much to bear without response.
Thank you for bodies that call out to one another.

Lord, thank you for all the ways bodies come together,
For the meals and walks shared,
For the brush of skin on skin,
For the whisper, the scream, the grasping,
And even the pushing away.
For the feeling
For the fumbling
For the fingering
For the fisting
For the fucking
For the fucking
For the fucking

Fuck.

Thank you, Lord. For us.
